John E. Wick, Cand. Ed.D.
I wish to thank each and every one of you for making a difference in the lives of children every day. You are the reason why thousands of children will grow to become adults who are ready to face the challenges of a world that does not yet exist. Educators like you help to shape the future of our world. There is no greater profession then that of one who seeks to help others face the challenges of life while imparting knowledge upon your students.
I am currently a doctoral candidate in the area of Educational Leadership with a specialization in teaching and learning theory. My dissertation is currently being conducted and is on the topic of Teacher's Perceptions of Homework. I have always been interested in human development and my other academic degrees attest to this. I've earned my AA in Social and Behavioral Sciences, my BA in Human Development (with a Concentration in English), and an MA in Education.
I have served for five years as a technology coordinator and coach, teaching every grade level from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I Also taught for four years as a Jr. High Studio Arts teacher. It is extremely rewarding to have the same students year after year and to watch and help them grow into young men and women who will make a difference in the world.
I currently serve as the principal for Christ Cathedral Academy in Garden Grove California. I believe that we all have the ability to create positive changes and that these changes can make a huge impact for our students and upon the education landscape. Your presence at this CUE Rockstar Teacher Camp is a testament to your devotion to always push forward and bring the best to your students.
I invite you to follow me on twitter: @johnwick or to read my blog: www.revogogy.com. You can also follow @regogogy for updates on the efforts we are taking to ensure that revolutionary pedagogy continues to take place every day in our students' classrooms.
Enjoy your summer. It has been a pleasure to spend these three days with each of you.
