Educreations
Educreations is a very easy to use screencasting app that is free to download. A screencasting app will allow you to draw, record, include images, and audio to generate a lesson.
When you first open educreations It tells you simply to tap "New Lesson" to create your first lesson.
You are then presented with the work area. You can change the color of your drawing by touching the color you want, add text by touching the "T", or images by touching the image icon that looks like a landscape.
For this education about Shrodinger's cat I used images. These can be taken by your camera or downloaded from the Internet. Once they are on your device it is a simple matter of clicking "photos" and choosing from your Camera Roll.
Once your camera roll is open you can select the image you would like to appear on the recording.
The actual creation of the video will be demonstrated during the session as it is easier to demonstrate live. A brief synopsis follows:
- click: "rec" (this begins recording process)
- you can draw on the screen while recording
- you can pause the recording to collect your thoughts or add elements.
- The arrow on the bottom right creates a new page (useful for working with a fresh sheet during the recording).
Once you are done with your recording click: "Done" and then press "Save lesson" You have options but I generally save as public.
Select the subject area and click "Save". Your education is now saved to your iPad for direct play and to the web. clicking on the top right button with the arrow coming out of the box (that is next to the trash can) will allow you to share the education via Facebook, Twitter, Email, or a URL Link.
